Tuvalu is abloom.
And so is my nose.
With camera in hand, on my way back from taking K to the station, I drove my street.
My street is a horseshoe. It begins and ends on a busy main artery that leads to the waterfront.
At one end is the home of my walking buddy -
she's got flamingos!
Around the curve and down a little hill we cross the intersection.
This is a pretty spot. There are dozens of birds singing away and in the evening bats swoop around. The houses on two of the corners have extensive wildflower gardens.
The one to the left has a shock of magenta azaleas and the one on the right has gorgeous ground cover planting. The house on the left starred in a very famous movie.
But I can't tell you which one.
Around another curve and up a little hill and you are on my end of the street. I live in the last house on the right. The one with the roof window.
And look! A giant truck delivering chips to the residents of Tuvalu! This is a special day!
The view from my front lawn looking down the street...

We're flying Tibetan prayer flags for my brother - out on expedition and K who has just returned.
show and tell - my street

Gosh we live in such different locations! I like your street a lot. But Tuvaluans have very unusual rubbish bins.
Mine's up, and now I can go to bed. Goodnight.
Hi, I've been reading your blog for a while now and have been inspired to start my own. I wish the sun was shining here today. You have a beautiful street. I feel like the new kid at school hoping the cool kids will like me. Anyway, I enjoying reading your blog and mine is up.
I WANT TO LIVE WHERE YOU LIVE!!!
(sob)
Your street looks a lot like mine. Have you read about the Armstrong's sewer problems (blurbomat.com or dooce.com) - older homes can have old sewers with really expensive problems.
Sorry to take away from the beauty of your pics, but the costs they are going through!!!! I feel this need to warn anyone who's house was built before 1950..
Ah, Tuvalu is gorgeous! And is that Charles' Chips? More coveted than milk delivery, I've heard...
I'm up but I'll warn you it's a bit scanty today.
So green. So beautiful! I love your house too.
I'm up.
Irene! who lives in Paris!
Wants to live where I live...
am I the only one scratching her head?
Mr. Rogers and America How are you!! If it weren't for your flags, I could have sworn i smelled apple pies and heard the swing of the baseball bat! Makes me want to show my street!!
So so pretty. Idyllic. The green, green grass! Our grass is weeds.
I will be up later today.
I don't normally comment on the word verif but today's is, I kid you not, effing. oh, wait, effmg. sorry.
My street is so boring. No trees. Not pretty. I may skip this one. I'll have to let you know.
I'm up. And special for you, bb, just scroll, a "star" list.
Your street is
lovely.
My street is ugly.
not up yet.
:)
Irene's no fool, door-to-door chip delivery isn't an amenity one takes lightly.
I hear Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young's "Our House" whenever I see pictures of your place. (Except the two cats in the yard bit. Blackbirds aren't big cat fans.)
Mine's up. I, too, was amazed that someone who lives in Paris would like to live on your street, but then I looked at the pictures of your street again, and it's close, very close!
This is my first show and tell! You're street is lovely! Very different from my street!
Your neighborhood is just as I imagined it! Similar to neighborhoods of my past. Lovely. Cherish it!
Wow. So beautiful. So lush! Looks like you live near a lot of gardeners!
I'll put mine up tonight!
it's gorgeous :) makes me want to have a picnic :P
do you have any links handy about the prayer flags? i've always been quite fascinated by them :)
Whew.
For a second I thought your house had been transported from Tuvalu to Tibet.
-J.
Beautiful!
My nose is blooming too!
My camera is down or I would post my street.
Maybe I'll check through my archived photos and see if I can dig something up.
Mine's up.
It's up!
Do you know that TODAY, THIS MORNING, I wandered out into my front yard to let the pooches do their business before I left for work, and I sat and admired my street, looked at the blooming trees, and all my beautiful bulbs that have bloomed in fantastic colors, and thought, "what a lovely neighborhood!"
But did I remember to take a picture? Did I remember that it was show and tell? DID I!?!?!
I like your street, mine is not so lush yet.
A short post but I'm up!
Ah I can almost smell the spring, looking at these shots. What a lovely street. Of course my son has Tibetan prayer flags flying in his bedroom. And today, for the first time, you can see that fuzzy yellow-green aura in the trees that means the leaves are finally coming to the frozen north.
My very first show and tell is up - courtesy of early dismissal at the girls' school and an indulgent boss.
I'm up...
Look at you, all fancy with your asphalt roadways... ;)
I feel left out on this one. I don't own a home, so no street to call mine. I think I'll just watch from the sidelines. Everyone has some beeyootiful streets :)
Your street looks beautiful. Speaking as an Aussie - grass overseas always seems so brilliantly GREEN. Why isn't our grass that green? I want greener grass in my street.
*Green with envy*
WAIT! WAIT! I take it back. I am going to play today. I figured out how with some old photos.... I AM UP!
Mines up!
I love,love,your Hood!!!
And now I have a strong desire to move:)
I love your street. Are there any houses for sale? Sorry I didn't play today... Things aren't so great in Jennifer's World right now.
Have a good weekend

Oh my. How delicious. I want to come and roll on your grass. What a stunningly gorgeous street.
I was done and then it was gone. I hope I can get it to work.
Beautiful street you live on!
Wow, it is so green and beautiful where you are! I live in the Pocono mountains and the trees are still bare and only starting to bud. :(
